The present paper explored music teaching and learning in primary schools of Anambra State, Nigeria in order to determine the relevance of the curriculum to the all-round development of the child. It a/so sought to establish the availability o/ materials for the enhancement of musical knowledge and skills acquisition at the primary schools level in the State. Six State primary schools and five private primary schools were studied as the representative sample of the population. The findings of the study indicated' among other-things that 'most schools in the state, did not have enough books (sometimes not at all), musical instruments and other facilities for effective music education. Based on the findings, recommendations were preferred for the improvement of Music Education in the State.. "
