What do we mean when we speak of "aesthetic education" The term "aesthetics" (from Greek aisthesis. 'sense perception') defined in Encyclopaedia Britannica (1973, p.22I) as it theoretical study of the arts and related types of behaviour are experience ... the study of beauty and its manifestations in the art "including music, literature, theatre, dance, film, painting, sculpture and architecture ...." By aesthetic education then, we mean this aspect of general education which is concerned with developed appreciation of. or responsiveness to, the beauts' inherent in it arts: it is the aspect of education "that is aimed at satisfying emotional needs, enriching life experiences and developing men; powers.
