Care-giving has arguably become an imperative in contemporary Nigerian society, owing to a number of reasons which are not limited to urbanization and rising costs of living in Nigeria. Increasingly, parent/guardians are faced with the dilemma of care-giving, as the care-givers are likely to abuse the dependants under their care, resulting, in most cases, to a gross violation of their human rights or even death.
