Abstract

This article problematizes the marginalisation and trivialisation of women’s involvement in political activities evidenced in their relegation to at worst cheerleading roles during political contests, and at best, merely voting for mostly male candidates. In departure from much of the literature, we contend that political strategies for enhancing women’s political participation must employ e-governance tools for political communication so that women’s disadvantage in the electoral process can be minimised.
