Abstract

The study examined the effect of financial performance on strategic information voluntary disclosure of listed manufacturing companies in Nigeria. The sample size consisted of ten (10) manufacturing companies listed in the Nigeria stock exchange as at 31st December, 2018. Secondary data was obtained from the published annual report of the manufacturing companies for a period of 10 years (2009-2018). The data was analyzed using both descriptive and inferential (OLS regression) statistics. The study found return on asset having a negative and insignificant effect with strategic information voluntary disclosure, whereas liquidity has a positive and insignificant effect with strategic information voluntary disclosure. It was therefore recommended that manufacturing companies should manage and increase their liquidity in other to have more strategic information voluntary disclosure. Also, management of manufacturing companies should ensure more disclosure in their annual report to assist the users of the annual report to make more informed decisions.
