About Prof. Ruth Aderanti


A Professor of Applied Psychology in the Department of Education, Babcock University.  She has served Babcock University in various capacities as Director of General Studies, Head of Department of Educational Foundations, Director of Academic Planning and presently Head of Department Education. She has published scholarly articles in both local and international journals as well as instructional books. Her research interest is in Adolescent Counseling, and Educational Psychology.

Courses taught at both undergraduate and graduate levels include: general psychology, research methods, family life education, Educational Psychology, Testing in Counselling and continuous assessment, Theories of Counselling and Psychotherapy, Occupational information and job analysis, Personality Development and Social Adjustment, Behaviour Modification, Abnormal Psychology, Adolescent Psychology. Supervised undergraduate and graduate students’ researches also served as external examiner for some PhD Dissertation and external moderator for counselling practicum of some Masters’ students

Adept at administrative, leadership tasks and collaboration at the university level, great collaborator for issues of postsecondary access, inclusion and student engagement, and advocate for students.
