Dr Abimbola Oluseyi Ogunsola obtained her first degree in Physiology from the University of Ilorin and proceeded with her masters and doctorate degrees in Physiology at the University of Lagos, specializing in Endocrinology & Reproductive Physiology. She also has a fellowship in medical laboratory science with specializations in Haematology & Blood Group Serology. Dr. Ogunsola has received research grants and travel awards to attend and present her research output in scientific conferences locally and internationally. She is a member of the following professional bodies: Physiology Society of Nigeria, The Physiological Society UK, Society for Endocrinology UK, Nigerian Society for Endocrinology and Metabolism and the Society of Perinatal Medicine of Nigeria. Her research focus is on unraveling the mechanisms responsible for the development of type 2 diabetes mellitus, obesity, metabolic syndrome and blood disorders and also identifying ameliorative and preventive agents for these disorders.
