About Dr. Dorcas Odunaike

Biography

Dorcas A. Odunaike LL.B, LL.M, M.Phil, Ph.D is an Associate Professor of Law in the Department of Private and Commercial Law, School of Law and Security Studies Babcock University, Ilishan Remo, Ogun State, Nigeria where she teaches law both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. She was called to the Nigerian Bar in the early 90’s. She served as the Vice-Dean of the School from 2015-2017 and is currently the Head of Department of Private and Commercial Law. She studied law at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife where she obtained her Doctor of Philosophy in Law (PhD) among others and has authored many books, book chapters and articles in Commercial, Family and Intellectual Property Law. She is a recipient of the Australian Leadership Award Fellowship, 2012 and has served as Legal Adviser to many organizations. She is an active member of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Nigerian Association of Law Teachers (NALT) and Nigerian Association of Adventist Lawyers (NAAL). At the moment she teaches Comparative Family Law, Biblical Principles of Law, IP Innovation and the Creative Industries at Postgraduate level and Ethics of Musical Practice, Intellectual Property Law and Commercial Law at undergraduate level in Babcock University.
