Biography

DICKSON, Theodore Uchechukwu, PhD., is a Senior Lecturer in Old Testament Exegesis & Interpretation, and Family Studies. He serves as the Secretary to the Biblical Research Committee of the West Central Africa Division of Seventh-day Adventist Church, with headquarters in Abidjan, Cote D'ivoire. He is an Ordained Minister of the Seventh-day Adventist Church and currently the Pastor of New Creation Chapel at Babcock University, Ilishan-Remo, Ogun Conference.

Theodore holds a Bachelors degree in Theology from Babcock University (First Class) in 2007 and proceeded to the University of Ibadan, Nigeria where he obtained Masters and Doctoral Degrees in Old Testament Studies in 2010 and 2014 respectively. He has authored and co-authored over thirty peer-reviewed articles and book chapters locally and internationally.  His scholarly areas of interest include Old Testament Exegesis and Interpretation, Biblical Interpretation and Systematization, Family Studies with particular interest in the various human, family, social, and environmental factors that impact on early childhood education and wellbeing of infants, Parenting and parental challenges in a changing society, Religion and Society.

He is currently the Assistant Head, Department of Religious Studies, Editor of Insight: Journal of Religious Studies and Assistant Editor-in-Chief, Journal for Faith Integration. He also serves as the PG Coordinator for Religious Studies Department, Babcock University. Theodore is a member of several professional associations which include the Biblical Research Committee; International Society for Biblical Literature (SBL); and National Association for Biblical Studies (NABIS). He loves teaching, research, music, preaching, personal ministry, and charity. As a Relationship Coach, Theodore runs an online Singles Ministry with over 200 singles drawn from different parts of the world. He is happily married to Mrs. Success Eberechi Dickson, who he considers an Answered Prayer. Their union is blessed with three wonderful children: Bestman, Jessica, and Samuel.
