About Mr. Abayomi Opadele

Biography

Opadele Abayomi is a dynamic, intellectual and research oriented individual using his training as a Physicist towards developing and sustaining corporate goals and objectives especially in the fields of Medicine, Sciences and Engineering. Abayomi loves to presents the complex theories in Physics in seeminly simple approach for effectual understanding and practice. He is currently pursuing his doctoral studies in Medical Physics at the prestigious University of Lagos and involved in the radiation biology research laboratory with Prof. Aweda and Dr. Nwoye to investigate DNA repair mechanisms.

Abayomi was selected on a partial research sponsorship to attend the Ghana-Norway Summer School on Radiological Imaging for Breast Diseases (Benign and Malignant) Diagnosis and Management held at the University of Ghana (School of Nuclear and Allied Sciences) and The Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, Accra, Ghana 2017. He also recieved a fellowship from the Global Institution for Colloborative Research and Education (Gi-CORE) to attend the 4th summer school for Medical Physics jointly conducted by Hokkaido University and Stanford University at Hokkaido University, Sapporo, Japan 2017.

He has also received a full sponsorhip to attend the Ghana-Norway Summer School on MRI, X-ray and Ultrasound applications at the University of Development Studies, Tamale, Ghana in 2018. Also, he was priviledged to be the only African selected on fellowship to attend the 1st Radiation Biology School organized by the Hokkaido Graduate School of Medicine and Stanford Graduate School of Medicine to learn about the recents advancement in radiation biology research at Hokkaido University, Sapporo, Japan in 2018.

Abayomi is known for servant-leadership as demonstrated by his National Youth Service Corps in Kogi State, where he served as an Assitant Lecturer with the School of Engineering, Kogi State Polytechnic and also served meritoriously with the Nigerian Christian Corpers Fellowship as an House Official. He also taught Physics Science briefly at Rock 'N" Gardens secondary school, Lokoja and also volunteered with the Lagos arm of Leadership Clinic and with the Department of Radiotherapy, Eko Hospital as a Clinical Intern Physicist.

Abayomi is always willing to learn at every given opportunity and believes that if you want to change the world, you must start with yourself.
