Dr Idowu Akolade is a lecturer at Ben. Carson (Snr) School of Medicine and an Honorary Consultant Physician/Endocrinologist at the Babcock University Teaching Hospital Ilishan-Remo, Ogun-State. He obtained his Postgraduate Fellowship in Internal Medicine in Nov 2017 where he emerged with the best result in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism.
Dr Idowu Akolade also has a Masters degree in Chemical Pathology and Immunology . He has published 22 scientific articles in the areas of diabetes, thyroidology, infectious diseases and neuro-endocrinology in both local and reputable international journals
He is currently the vice-chairman of the Diabetes Association of Nigeria (DAN), Ogun State chapter. He is an associate member of the British Endocrine Society(BES),American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists (AACE) and the European Association for the Study Diabetes. He has presented many of his research works in international conferences organized by these bodies which he is affiliated to.
He has trained many medical students and resident doctors undergoing their residency programme both at the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital and Babcock University Teaching Hospital.
He is married to Pharm. Adeyinka Idowu and the marriage is blessed with three children.
