About Dr. Abolanle Kayode


KAYODE A. A. Abolanle obtained a PhD in Phytochemistry, Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Ibadan (UI), Nigeria sequel to an MSc in Nutritional Biochemistry (UI) and a B. Sc in Biochemistry from the University of Ilorin. He was a graduate scholar of the Department of Chemistry, Nelson Mandela University, Port Elizabeth, South Africa (2018), where he acquired skills in spectroscopy and structure elucidation. His area of research focuses on Phytomedicine and Drug discovery and development from African medicinal plants. His current research activities include anti-ulcer, anti-viral and anticancer properties of African medicinal plants and effect of climate change on the therapeutic properties of medicinal plants (SDGs 3, 4 & 13). He teaches Biochemistry to undergraduate and postgraduate students (Feb, 2009 – Till date). Kayode is an active and enthusiastic academic researcher. He is a member of Nigeria Society for Biochemistry & Molecular Biology (NSBMB), Nigerian Society of Pharmacognosy (NSP), Nigerian Society for Experimental Biology (NISEB), Functional Foods & Nutraceuticals of Nigeria (FF&NAN), Biodiversity Conservation and Medicinal Plant Research Group ((BCMP, UI), Phytotherapy Research Group  (UI). Kayode loves reading and participating in Christian drama evangelism. He is happily married to Dr. Mrs. Omowumi T. Kayode.
