Abstract

This paper proposes two fused novel technologies in safeguarding computer system from unauthorized users or theft, the first is encrypting data files so that when a laptop falls into wrong hand, the owner will not lose sleep concerning the data files, the encryption algorithm employed the Symmetric Encryption Algorithm(SEA); the second is based on an earlier design of wireless token, the wireless token is embedded into the laptop cache such that the token communicates with the laptop to authenticate the validity of the person holding the token, the computer will not give access to whoever has taken or stolen the computer device provided the unauthorised user is not listed on the token list. These two techniques fused together makes stolen laptop or computer device holding important data files not popular. This novel technique need not the permission of the user to perform either the encryption or the authentication,
