Abstract
The main aim of management in every organization is to get things done through people for the achievement of the organizational goals. The most effective way of achieving that is to motivate employees. Motivated employees are needed in today’s rapidly changing workplace because they help organizations to adapt, grow, and survive. The main objective of this study is to ascertain the biblical perspective on motivation in a Christian organization. For motivation to be effective those in charge of organizations need to understand what motivates employees within the context of the roles they perform. The study concluded that those in charge of Christian organizations should endeavor to examine the issues involved in motivating their employees. They should also strive to meet the basic needs of their employees. Finally, honesty and transparency should characterize the relationship between the employer and employee in Christian organizations as enjoined in the Bible which provides the basic principles on which Christian organizations operate.
