Abstract

The availability and wide usage of wireless networks with different kinds of topologies, techniques and protocol suites have brought with them a need to improve security mechanisms. Much unique vulnerability in the wireless environment occurs due to the shared and open nature of this communication mode. This paper discusses some of these threats, recent approaches to mitigate them, further challenges that need to be addressed and possible solutions to wireless networks security problems.
