Abstract

PREAMBLE For a topic such as Discourse, Politics and the 1993 Presidential Election Campaign - A Re-Invention of June12 Legacy to have found itself as a choice for academic study not even in the Department of Political Science but in the Department of English, then the subject matter must have some profound and compelling uniqueness that attracts the scholar to it. The book, as revealed in its preface, actually originated from a structured doctorate degree research topic approved for the author, Dr Babatunde Olusola Opeibi, (whom I could whisper was far from active politics at the time) in the year 2004 at the Department of English, University of Lagos [see page xi].
