Abstract

The use of receivables in obtaining loans from banks will be the crux of this paper. This paper explores the different techniques of financing against receivables. It posits that there are certain considerations which both the financier and the corporate client cannot ignore when choosing the suitable financing technique. One of such considerations is the clientâ€™s capacity to borrow. The statutory and equitable assignments of receivables as well as the formalities to be complied with in statutory assignments will also be examined. In addition to this, certain restrictions to assignment and the forms which security interests over receivables take like charge and mortgage will be explored.
