Abstract
Money, like any other commodity, is bought and sold in a market. The Nigerian Financial Markets comprise mainly of the money and capital markets. These markets bring together those units with surplus funds which may wish to lend on a short-term or long-term basis on one side and those units wishing to borrow on short or long-term basis respectively. By and large, the financial markets are quite desirable hi any economy because they serve as an intermediary between the lenders and the borrowers thereby assisting free flow, even and efficient distribution and allocation of funds from savers to investors. The market therefore provides an enabling medium for the efficient mobilization and allocation of resources through financialization of savings and channelling of these savings into productive investments.
