Abstract

Globalization as a reality today has become widely accepted and more focused. Indeed, the globalization world order processes distinctive characteristic of integrating the social, political and economic system of the diverse nations of the world with the consequences of translating the entire world gradually into a big coherent socio-political and economic system. The thrust of this paper is the recognition of the reality of a global environment deeply embedded in interdependency and the necessity for Nigeria banks to confront the challenges of this reality by accepting it as inevitable. The paper focuses on the conceptual framework of Globalization, conditions precedent to Globalization, consequences of globalization on the Nigerian banking industry as well as concluding remarks.
