Abstract
ABSTRACT: The debate on electronic resources and hard copy materials has been on since the advent of the Internet. This paper adds voice to the debate by marshalling out reasons why information materials in hard copy should remain. Though electronic resources are increasingly becoming popular, many reasons are given to support the inevitability of hard copy or print materials in library collections. The electronic age has in so many ways affected the operation of information resource centers. This paper focuses on the information age and hard copy materials and how they interface with library administration in the 21st century. The position taken is that hard copy materials could co-exist with electronic materials because they have their role. Many reasons are outlined to support this stance. Among them are accessibility, tangibility, cost, ownership restriction, and user preference.
