Abstract

There is no guaranteed secure information system, despite credible efforts to eliminate data breaches. It is necessary to learn from past breach experiences to provide wisdom to implement apt security measures. There are some existing breach data capture and reporting systems, but their designs are not readily available for appreciation and improvement. The focus of this research is, therefore, to design and create a breach data capture and reporting system. The development of the system went through an iterative series of awareness, suggestion, development, evaluation, and conclusion. The eventual application accepts data breach incident report input, though not in the best form, and generates informative reports towards improved breach risk reduction policies and mechanisms. Its basic design is available for improvements.
