Abstract
Management by objectivs has been used to appraise the performance of employees. to use this strategy, the supervisor/manager and his or her subordinate meet to establish goals to be achieved for the job in behavioral terms. this paper empirically examined management by objectives (MBO) as a moderator of work performance in the Nigerian universities. precisely, this study investigated five major possible factors that brings about hallow effect in employees performance evaluation.
