Abstract
This study has investigated the comparative cost effectiveness of schooling in Babcock University and other public universities in western Nigeria. The participants for this study consisted of 1000 students from Babcock university and other 4 public university (2 federal and 2 state university in western Nigeria). A self-constructed questionnaire was administered to the respondents. the data collected were analyzed using regression analysis, t-test and simple percentages. The results obtained indicated that the tuition or fee of Babcock university is high compared with other private universities in Nigeria. The study also revealed that the resources provision and utilization in Babcock university for the student cannot be compared in any way with the public universities. The study suggested that there is a great need to finance universities to meet the rapid changes in technology and global competition in all facets of human endeavors.
