Abstract
Non-discriminatory form of education, expects no student to be an exception. Therefore, there is the need for service providers in tertiary institution to provide spaces and facilities as the outset to meet the needs of all the students. This study assesses the accessibility of students with disabilities to facilities in tertiary institutions in Nigeria. Two hundred and forty students were randomly selected for this study. Descriptive statistics was employed to ascertain the accessibility of the students to facilities in their various institutions of learning. The result showed that 82.4% of the students with disabilities agreed that there are no adequate facilities for them on their school campuses. The study also showed that 91.4% of the students with disabilities agreed that there is no timely response to request for disability-related accommodation. Implication for the study includes the need for tertiary institutions to rise up to the challenges faced by students with disabilities, by putting them into consideration when planning the take-off of their institutions.
