Abstract

A descriptive survey design was used to study investigated into the effect of gender and socio-economic background on adolescentsâ€™ rebelliousness. A total enumeration, method was used to select 76 participants from the remand homes for boys and girls in Lagos state. The age range is between 14 and 18 years. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) was use to test the two (2) hypotheses proposed. The result of the findings revealed that no significance difference in the effect of gender and socio-economic backgrounds of adolescent rebelliousness these findings imply that adolescentsâ€™ rebelliousness is not respecter of gender or any socio-economic backgrounds since all adolescents have to pass through the developmental stage. Based on this result a recommendation is made. Contemporary Humanities Vol 4 No 1 pp 38-46
