Abstract
We try to show in this article that Deuteronomy 22:5, far from being a problem can indeed, present helpful tools as biblical response to "apartheid" in Nigeria. With West's Hermeneutics of Liberation, we wish to advance a position that the development of this work is to create autonomous weapon for socio-political as well as cultural struggle in Nigeria. Therefore, this calls for a re-reading of Deuteronomy 22:5. It further explores the theme of liberation that underpins the text as a tool for reprimanding 'apartheid' in Nigeria. Better still, it draws attention to the unequal need of bringing freedom to the weak, poor, and marginalized, who suffer oppression, repression and subjugation in the hands of the the strong, aristocrats and middle-class of the Nigerian society.
