I have been pushed by scarcity of adequate and consumable books in Estate and Development Finance to give myself an extra task of producing this textbook. It is a fact that the field of Estate and Development Finance has no book relating to local experience. This is worsened by the fact that while the Surveyor may be thinking the book is to be written by the Economist, Accountant or Financial Analyst, these other professionals think it is the exclusive preserve of the Estate Surveyor.
This book has been written in a simplified form and brings out wealth of experience of the author in a mortgage banking institution. The authorship had commenced in 1986 and spanned through 2013. I have in spite of my experience mentioned above carried out a review of literature in the wide field of Estate Finance and this book covers areas like Means of Ownership of Real Estate, Land Development and the Importance of Real Estate Finance. It also deals with stages in Land Development, Different Types of Real Estate Finance (Including Mortgage), Sources of Real Estate Finance, Taxation (Including Land Use Charge), Insurance, Investment Devices, Investment Tips, Government Actions and Estate Finance and Estate Accounts.
