Abstract
This paper reports an intervention that aimed at introducing potential faithbased
social care volunteers to the strengths-based approach in social care/
services. The goal of the intervention was to foster a caring community by
enhancing how faith based organizations deliver services to their clients. A
three-day workshop presenting the strengths-based approach was carried out
during a Seventh-Day Adventist camp meeting in the South Botswana region. A
survey was administered to obtain a feedback from the participants as to their
attitudes and perception about the role of social work values and approaches
to caring for members within their church community.
