Abstract
Allover the world women are seen and viewed as the weakest set that need to be assigned lighter responsibilities, at home, society and work place.
Gender inequality could be described as an irrational treatment of an opposite sex against the other. Most often, women are treated unjustly and are denied of certain human rights. This has lead to women’s right becoming as popular under current issues as feminism, gender inequality, women marginalization, women empowerment and others.
So many factors as religion, less education, tradition and culture have contributed to non recognition of women. This paper duly examines the causes of gender inequality, its effects and consequences. The researcher went further to proffer possible solutions in the elimination or reduction of gender inequality. However, this paper concluded by upholding that place of women in the society and top managerial positions is being stepped up.
