Abstract
This paper intends to answer the question on how the use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) improve the decision making process at the grassroots level? Decision making has remained a necessary tool for government and administration nationally and internationally. It can be argued further that most times, citizens are denied the opportunity of participating in the decision making process at the grassroots level in Nigeria. This study however, explored the possibilities of enhancing citizen‘s participation in decision making process and in fact the entire decision making process at the grassroots level, using the ICT. The study adopted the historical and descriptive method of research and data was source from secondary sources. The study concluded that ICT brings about greater transparency and accountability in governance. Again, the importance of e- governance to bringing about a participatory decision making process in Nigeria cannot be overemphasized, as the emergence of ICT has revolutionized processes and practices across the globe, governance inclusive. The study also recommended, among other things, that in order to bring about a more efficient decision making process in which citizens can actively participate, government at the grassroots level should ensure an active and interactive online presence, where individuals can get minimal information as well as make comments and suggestions.
