Abstract

Nursing is one of the oldest professions in the fallen world in the face of human experiences with sin, diseases, and accidents. Beginning from process of conception, birth, aging to death in old age, nursing and nurses are inevitable in various forms. What are the roles of nursing and nurses in the Ancient Book, the Bible? What do we glean from a careful exploration of the profession in it that would inform nursing practice in the 21st Century and beyond? This paper seeks to rediscover the need for wholeness and holism in the care of people as beings made in the image of God.
