This paper looked at the Global Financial Meltdown from a Christian viewpoint. Different people react to problems in different ways. Such reactions can be sub-divided into two broad categories: secular and religious. In the Christian religion, the Bible encourages hard work as well as stewardship. Tithes and offerings are important aspects of stewardship. The global meltdown was sudden, but it was an indirect result of the materialistic maneuvers of investors. Materialism generally ignores tithes and offerings. Thus, the blessings of stewardship are lost. If all participants in the investment world would return their tithes and pay their offerings, God will bless their handiwork and thus minimize future economic crises.
