Abstract

This paper examined some psychopersonalogical factors (career aspiration, career efficacy, pay preference, gender and realistic job preview) as predictors of organizational attraction and job acceptance intention of unemployed University graduates in Ibadan, Nigeria. A sample of 300 unemployed university graduates participated in the study. Multiple regression analysis was employed to determine the relationship among the variables as well as the joint and relative contributions of the independent variables to the prediction of the dependent variables. Findings revealed that the independent variables jointly accounted for variations in the dependent variables, while career efficacy had the greatest relative influence in the prediction of organizational attraction and job acceptance intention of unemployed university graduates. Implications for counseling are discussed in the study.
