Abstract
The paper investigated the impact of donation on the Babcock University Law Library book collection. Acquisition record from January 2008 to January 2014 was used to assess the impact of donation on the book collection development of Babcock University Law Library. Data collected from acquisition record were presented in tables using simple percentages. Findings show that donation form 76.8% of the Babcock University Law Library book collection. The paper recommended that the University should designate funds for systematic acquisition of books in the law library. The library should be purposeful in seeking donors that will provide monetary donations instead of books. The library should strengthen relationships with significant stakeholders, who are supportive of the library.
