Abstract
This study examined the relationship between job satisfaction and organizational commitment among library personnel in Lagos State. The survey design was adopted. The study’s population comprised 224 personnel in all academic libraries in Lagos state. Using the total enumeration technique, 224 copies of a structured questionnaire were administered and 81% response rate recorded. Data was analyzed using descriptive statistics and Pearson Product Moment Correlation. Findings revealed that library personnel had average level of commitment. However, there was more of Affective Commitment then, Normative Commitment and Continuance Commitment It was also revealed that, the personnel were satisfied with their job It was also found that, job satisfaction has a significant relationship with organizational commitment. The study recommends that policies and programs that will enhance increased job satisfaction be put in place as this will further increase employees’ commitment.
