Abstract
One of the greatest tasks facing contemporary educational institutions and their curriculum is that of adequately fulfilling the basic content and meaning of education itself. In its real sense, education could be seen as process, developmental in nature, by which the student is assisted to understand, accept, and utilize his or her abilities, capabilities, aptitudes, interests, and attitudinal patterns in relation to his or her society. This implies that to educate someone either through formal or informal methodology involves a process aimed at touching the entire facets of the student for quality, complete and rewarding experience in this life and beyond. To achieve the aforementioned, educational curriculum must be holistic with the aim of impacting not only the head, but also the heart and the hand. This approach is pertinent for at least two reasons. First, the fact that societal expectation of University Graduates has moved from knowing to doing. Second, the unending threat of unemployment which has become an economic virus. In fulfilling this task, this paper examines the Jewish educational curriculum. Its scope and content as basis for holistic education is compared with the National Policy on Education toward the quest for balance in the various facets of educational development of the student. It is believed that such approach with special emphasis on skill acquisition will produce sound Graduates with the capacity of fulfilling the fundamental purposes of education; having the right heads, hearts and hands
