Abstract
The quest for Library and Information Services as gateways to National Integration for the development of Information and Communication Technologies in the Country has been long overdue. Politically, National Integration is the awareness of a common identity among its subjects (citizens) of a Country. Library and Information Services for National Integration is the total application of the above statement if it is converted into the library operations, functions and services of transforming and transmitting information dissemination to the citizens of the Country via electronic media formats. National Integration of Libraries and Information Services ought to be embraced on library framework of Co-operations and collaborations that could harmonize a National development of Libraries Nationwide. The process of establishing and implementing a National Integration of Libraries and Information Services for the Nation begins with planning. Just like the National Library of Nigeria endorsed the Inter-lending Scheme Services in 1973 which eventually gave birth to the National Union of Catalogues (NUC) and National Union List of Serials (NULS) of Libraries in Nigeria in 1976 respectively. Libraries are redesigning their services and information products to add values and services to satisfy users in an era of information age. Therefore, this paper intends to examine the possibilities by which Library Institutions in Nigeria can promote effectively with efficiency and timely services delivery for National Integration and development of Information and Communication Technologies in the Country as a boon for generations yet to come.
