Abstract
This study looked at workers perception of the impact of mothers’ employment on the home with the objective of identifying the way various categories of workers in Babcock University look at the impact mothers employment has on the family and the child. The study employed the use of descriptive research. 400 workers were selected randomly from Babcock University in Ogun State as subject of study. The significance level was placed at 0.05. A total of six hypotheses were tested using “t-test” analysis in order to find out the differences between the perception of married and single, academic and non-academic, full time and part time workers. It was discovered that a significance difference exists between the perception of male and female, senior and junior, married workers with children and married workers without children on the impact of mothers’ employment on the home. Based on these findings, it was concluded that though mothers’ employment has numerous positive impact on the family and on children, there are negative effects too, and those negative effects can be reduced if fathers can share household tasks and child care with their wives.
