Abstract

the study examined some perceived causes of examination malpractices in a selected public university in Ogun state, Nigeria. it made used of stratified random sampling technique sampling of 300 participants. the range of the respondents was between 18 years and 60 years with the mean age of 36.5 and standard deviation of 3.413. the ex-post factor research design was used. The instrument consists of stuctured quetions developed by the Researchers with three sub scales were used in generating the data for the study. Data anlys involved the use of mutiple regressions (Step wise), Analysis of Variance (Step Wise) and Pearson moment product correlation. The results indicated that combination of School authority, students attitude and lecturer contributed (56.7%), R= 756; R2= 572 and adjusted R2= .567 to toward examination malpractices. Also, combination of (Authority, students and lecturer) reveal a (F3-246) ratio of =34.812;p<.05). Finally. Results indicated that examination malpracties is positively related to Lecturer attitude (r= .855; p<.0.5); School Authority (r=.862, p<.05) and students (r= .693, p<05>
