Abstract
The influence of the different pattern of media ownership has always engaged the attention of media scholars. The scene in Ondo State where African Independent Television, a private television station and Ondo State Broadcasting Corporation, a state government television station, control the airwave and practically became the appendage of a political party constituted the research area. Based on survey research among residents of Akure, the Ondo State capital, the study concluded that there is a positive correlation between viewer ship and audience perception of a television station and that demography influences this perception.
