Abstract
Ecumenical developments appeared to have been facing a galloping race over the centuries. To justify this study, the modernistic and Post-modernistic periods need to be critically examined through a philosophical eye which this paper sought to achieve through a Biblio-historical hermeneutics. Is the founding historic theory same with the Modernistic and Post-modernistic ideologies for unity in Christendom? How far has the drive for Modernistic and Post-modernistic senses for unity led the church? What are there missing marks or gaps? This study used analytical methodology. This paper, therefore, concludes that if the church critically examined and accepted the suggestions supplied through the binoculo-philosophical table of history, the church will understand the miles taken thus far and take a position towards progressing for a complete drive for unity in the Christian churches or groups
