Abstract
This study examined the determinants of the use of food safety information in the purchase of milk. Survey data were collected from200randomlyselectedconsumersinUyo,AkwaIbomState, Nigeria. Descriptive analysis and logistic regression models were used to analyze the data. Results showed that the use of food safety information was positively influenced by knowledge of foodsafety,maritalstatus,educationallevel,andpresenceofrisk groups in the household (p < .05). Gender and household size negatively influenced the use of food safety information, thus indicating the target group for food safety communication and intervention.
