Abstract
This essay is particularly aimed at uncovering the political roots of the problems that refugee women in Africa experience in their quest for international protection as guaranteed under international law. The paper reveals gaps in the international protection regime that have limited women’s enjoyment of their rights as refugees and advocates for the elimination of the root causes of refugee flows as the surest way to end refugee problems.
