Abstract
The aper discusses the information utilisation of female managers in decision -making in the oil companies in Nigeria. The stratiffied -quota sampling was used to select 270 female managers from 9 major oil companies .A questionnaire with relaibility coefficient of 0.83 was used to collect information from the respondents. The study found that most sources information used in decision-making were company records, online databases, colleagues, newspapers/magazines, government publications and technical reports. The aspects of management operations in which information utilisation contributed to their decision-making were found to be general administration, research and development, marketing management, production and finance and supplies. the study also found that there was a significant difference between the information utilisation in decision-making of female managers at the top level and middle level management. it is therefore recommended that information systems in the oil companies should be responsive to the needs of the female managers and decision support system should be implemented.
