Abstract
In recent times, content is increasingly produced and stored in digital form and distributed via the Internet. The ease of producing near perfect copies of the digital content has created a necessity to develop a means to protect it. Digital Rights Management (DRM) is a system developed to protect the intellectual property rights of the digital content by enabling a secure distribution of digital content and to prevent the unauthorized copying, usage, and distribution of the content. This paper presents a review of the features, basic components, architecture, and emerging paradigm on existing strategy for digital content protection; with the aim of providing a better understanding of the working principles.
