Abstract
Abstract
Poverty reduction is germane to the development of any country especially in developing countries such as Nigeria. Education plays an important role in the reduction of poverty. UNESCO (1997) observes that a relationship exists between education and poverty and that educated people have the potential of earning high. Many literatures have established that education empower people to become productive economically (UNESCO, 2011) and to secure a financial future (Lane, 2008). Poverty and education operate bi-directionally (Berg, 2008). This study therefore adopted a systematic review to assess the relationship between poverty, disabilities, and education level of individuals. Based on the finding of this study, poverty and disabilities are seen as the two major variables hindering education thus hindering the nation’s economy. It is recommended that an inclusive education which is in the national policy of education and advocated for by many agencies should be practiced.
