Introduction
The Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 prohibits any individual from getting involved in any form of forced or compulsory labour, hence it provides for the respect of the dignity of everyone including children.1 Children are specifically meant to be protected from any exposure to harmful activities or tasks such as or similar to unlawful labour.2 The subject matter of this paper is therefore germane, as children apart from being the most vulnerable of the human species, they are also the future generation, by giving them the right childhood the future of the human race becomes more secured.
Hence, this study will take an in-depth look into child labour, discussing who a child is in general parlance and under the relevant laws, as well as the various circumstances under which child labour
