Abstract
This paper has embarked on a major discussion of the role and place choir in worship. The choir ministration no doubt is an integral part of worship. The absence or shortfall may impact negatively on the quality of worship especially in the Seventh-day Adventist worship. Hence is the need to highlight the what, why, how, when and where is the need of choir in worship. The rest of the paper is divided into eight sections. Section 2 examines what constitutes worship and the power of music in worship. Section 3 discusses biblical origin of choir. Section 4 focuses on choir administration and membership. Section 5 discourses the role and function of choir in worship and other church's social activities. Section 6 is divided into three parts, the categories of music used by the choir, choice of musical instrument and the role of song texts in choir ministration. Section 7 examines the challenges of the choir and concludes by emphasizing the importance of discipline and cooperation as aids to effective choir ministration. Section 8 concludes finally by reaffirming the importance of the choir and the need to recognize and support the choir to enhance its performances.
