Abstract

Health care services in the University system is a component of school health programs and its significance cannot be overemphasized. Therefore this study investigated the students' perception and level of satisfaction with the quality of care in Babcock University teaching hospital. The study was descriptive and cross-sectional in design. Multistage sampling was used to select three hundred and ninety respondents for this study. Data was collected using a validated semi-structured questionnaire that was self-administered. Results showed that more than half (52.1%) of the respondents were female. Most 304 (77.9%) had utilized the Babcock University Teaching Hospital. More than half (52.60%) of the respondents utilized the general outpatient department. The respondents' perception on quality of cre received inBUTH was 24.45/69 which was considered low. The respondents' level of satisfaction with quality of care received in BUTh was 4.45/9 which was considered low. The respondents' perception on the quality of care was significantly correlated with their satisfaction (r= 0.548; p<0>0.05) and their level of satisfaction (x=18.35; p>0.05) respectively. In conclusion,,, the respondents' perception on quality of care had a relationship with their level of satisfaction. It is therefore recommended that seminars and training on human relations should be organized for healthcare staff to improve the interpersonal relationship with patients
