Abstract
Ordinarily, the term “conflict†normally sends a negative signal to the mind as most people tend to associate the term with negativity. This study however reveals that conflict is a necessary ingredient of progress in any organization. It reveals various views and sources of conflicts, their causes, positive and negative effects, forms of expression, as well as the various approaches to their resolution. Furthermore, the paper surveyed the recent theoretical literature that links conflict and economic growth. The study also identified some of the various models of conflicts, and is aimed at correcting the general erroneous impression that conflict is bad and should at all times be avoided.
